Names of 8 new GoI secretaries announced; LBSNAA director Upma Chawdhry and FCI CMD figure in the list
THE government on Saturday appointed eight senior officers at the rank of secretary or secretary-equivalent positions. Whereas director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Ms Upma Chawdhry, will be the new secretary in the department of youth affairs on December 31, another officer -- 1984 batch IAS, ABP Pandey, will take over as new revenue secretary at the end of this month when incumbent Hasmukh Adhia retires. KERALA chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said his government maintains a warm relationship with the IAS fraternity, in an apparent bid to normalize ties between the Kerala government and top administrators after IAS officers had threatened to take causal leave en-mass against what they called “abuse of power” by state's director of vigilance and anti-corruption bureau Jacob Thomas.
