Action and Appointments: Govt okays cadre change, inter-cadre deputations

THE government has recently approved a number of cases relating to cadre change and inter-cadre deputation of IAS and IPS officers on personal grounds. Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, a 1999 batch Orissa cadre IAS and his wife Mrs Shubha Sarma, also a 1999 batch Orissa cadre IAS will move from Odisha cadre to Assam segment of Assam-Meghalaya joint cadre, for a period up to April 25, 2015, in relaxation of the requisite “cooling-off” period. Here are more:
a) The government has transferred Parmeswaran B, a 2008 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS, from Rajasthan cadre to Odisha cadre on the ground of marriage to Ms Sarah Sharma, a 2010 batch Orissa cadre IPS.
b) The government has transferred Ms Neha Barisal, a 2010 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS from Tamil Nadu cadre to AGMUT cadre on the ground of marriage to Deepak Yadav, a 2011 batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer.
c) The government has approved inter-cadre deputation of Shyam Jagannathan, a 1997 batch Assam cadre IAS from Assam-Meghalaya cadre to Kerala cadre for a period of three years from date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
d) The Central government has approved inter-cadre deputation of Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, a 1999 batch Orissa cadre IAS and his wife Mrs Shubha Sarma, also a 1999 batch Orissa cadre IAS from Odisha cadre to Assam segment of Assam-Meghalaya joint cadre, for a period up to April 25, 2015, in relaxation of the requisite “cooling-off” period. The order has however mentioned that Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, “will be allowed to go only when his successor is identified and is available for joining”. Sarma hails from Assam, and is currently working as a deputy secretary in the cabinet secretariat. Shubha Sarma is a deputy secretary serving in the ministry of commerce and industries.
