Jyotsana Varma Ray of Jharkhand cadre deemed to have resigned from IAS

Jyotsana Varma Ray, 1992 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS, who has been on unauthorised leave for a long period after her tenure in Asian Development Bank in Manila had ended, will no longer be in the service. The Centre on Friday issued a notification (to be published in part-I, section-II of Gazette of India) saying that the 1992 IAS is “deemed to have resigned from the Indian Administrative Service” with effect from August 12, 2015. 23 IFoS officers empanelled as GoI joint secretary; Full list

THE government has empanelled as many as 23 officers belonging to Indian Forest Service (IFoS) for holding the post of Government of India joint secretary. Out of them, nine belonged to 1991 batch, 10 from 1992 batch and another four from 1993 batch. Here are the names of 23 IFoS officers:

THE government on Wednesday released the list of as many as 46 officers of Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) belonging to 1986 and 1987 batches. But the question remains whether such a large number of officers would actually get appointed in various Central ministries. These officers are about 10 years older than the young joint secretaries belonging to IAS. What activist cop Amitabh Thakur had to tell Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal; excerpts from a 2013 letter

TWO days after 1992 batch UP cadre IPS officer Amitabh Thakur lodged a police complaint against ruling Samajwadi Party chief and UP chief minister’s father Mulayam Singh Yadav, the state government on Monday night suspended him on the charge of indiscipline and anti-establishment approach. Thakur on Monday also met senior officials of union home ministry to demand a CBI enquiry into a rape charge against him and also to ask for more protection for him and his family. Those who know Thakur say he does not really hide behind conduct rules while expressing his views. BoI here reproduces a December 29, 2013 letter written by Thakur to Arvind Kejriwal who had then just taken over as the Delhi CM (Thakur himself made the letter public in a blog post).
