Simanchala Dash, IRS officer and former PS to Finance Minister, appointed in ED as Principal Special Director


Simanchala Dash, 1988 batch IRS-IT officer and former private secretary of finance minister Arun Jaitley, has been appointed as Principal Special Director of Enforcement, Delhi in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC, on deputation basis. created in the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Presently, there are five special directors in ED. Karnal Singh, a 1984 batch IPS officer from the Union Territory cadre, heads Enforcement Directorate.
Dash was appointed as private secretary to FM in July 2014 a couple of months after the NDA government took charge. He worked in that position till July 2017 before he moved into his cadre — Income Tax. Dash had earlier worked as private secretary to Jaitley when the latter was Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha during the UPA-II. 
Meanwhile, Rajesh S, 2000 batch UT cadre Indian Forest Service, has been appointed as director in NITI Aayog, under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period up to February 2, 2021.
