WITH the rising expectations of the public, civil servants are required to shoulder huge responsibilities, President of India Pranab Mukherjee said while addressing 36 promoted IAS officers. Those state civil service officers who were promoted only recently, are currently undertaking…
an induction training programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
The induction programme is significant because it gives the officers an all-India perspective on governance and administration.
The President said that the concept of governance and the character and dimension of administration have changed substantially over the years.

Action and Appointments
a) Bijaya Kumar Maurya, a 1990 batch UP cadre IPS officer, presently working as IG in ITBP under the ministry of home affairs, has been appointed as Executive Director (Security) in Air India in place of 1981 batch Maharashtra cadre IPS SC Mathur.
b) Satyajeet Rajan, a 1987 batch Kerala cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary (administration) at National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
