7 non-IAS officers appointed as directors in GoI departments, NITI Aayog, UPSC; Full List

THE Centre last week appointed seven director-level officers in various ministries and departments, apart from appointing 29 joint secretaries. All new directors are non-IAS; they belong to services such as Indian Ordnance Factory Service, Indian Railway Accounts Service, Indian Information Service, Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, Indian Railway Personnel Service etc. Here are the details of their appointments:
1. Gurjeet Singh Dhillon, 2002 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service officer, has been appointed as director in the ministry of housing and urban affairs, Delhi. He will be on a deputation from the ministry of defence. 
2. Niraj Kumar, 2000 batch Indian Railway Accounts Service officer, has been appointed as director in the ministry of housing and urban affairs.
3. Ms. Vidhushi Chaturvedi, 1998 batch Indian Post and Telecommunication Finance and Accounts Service officer, has been appointed as director in the department of health and family welfare.
4. Sanjay Roy, 1997 batch Indian Information Service officer, has been appointed as director in the department of health and family welfare.
5. Onkar Singh, 1997 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers officer, has been appointed as joint secretary (director level) in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Delhi. 
6. Ms. Sagarika Patnaik, 1999 batch Indian Railway Personnel Service officer, has been appointed as director in the department of personnel and training (DoPT).
7. Mukesh Kumar, 1992 batch Indian Telecom Service officer, has been laterally shifted from the post of director in the department of public enterprises to director, NITI Aayog, Delhi.
Meanwhile, Ms. G Latha Krishna Rao, 1982 batch Karnataka cadre IAS and secretary in the department of social justice and empowerment, has been assigned additional charge of the post of secretary in the ministry of tribal affairs from March 10, 2018 to April 11, 2018  when incumbent Ms. Leena Nair, 1982 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS is one leave.
