22 new joint secretaries appointed; 13 IAS, 3 IRS-IT, 1 IPS among others; Full List

IN A major reshuffle of joint secretary-level officers at the Centre, as many as 22 new JS were appointed on Monday by the ACC headed by the Prime Minister. Out of those new joint secretaries, 13 are IAS, 3 IRS-IT, 3 CSS and one each from IPS, ICAS and IOFS. In terms of male female ratio, it’s 16 is to 6. Here is the list of the new JS:

1. 1988 batch IRS-IT officer Ravi Agrawal has been appointed as joint secretary in department of disinvestment.
2. 1986 batch Kerala cadre IAS UKS Chauhan has been appointed as joint secretary in ministry of home affairs (MHA).
3. DEA joint secretary and 1989 batch Kerala cadre IAS Manoj Joshi has been shifted laterally as joint secretary in MSME ministry.
4. 1992 batch UT cadre IAS Sanjiv Kumar has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of revenue.
5. Ms Vandana Gurnani, 1991 batch Karnataka cadre IAS has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of health and family welfare.
6. Satyendra Garg, 1987 batch UT cadre IPS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of home affairs.
7. Pradeep Gupta, 1985 batch IOFS officer and private secretary to the President of India, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of home affairs on lateral shift basis.
8. TVSN Prasad, 1988 batch Haryana cadre IAS, presently on compulsory wait in the ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of home affairs on lateral shift basis.
9. Amrit Abhijat, 1995 batch UP cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation.
10. Ms Kalpana Awasthi, 1990 batch UP cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP).
11. IS Chahal, 1989 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS, presently on compulsory wait in the ministry of women and child development, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of Panchayati Raj on lateral shift basis.
12. Pankaj Jain, 1990 batch Assam cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department financial services under the ministry of finance.
13. Abhay Damle, 1989 batch IRS-IT officer, has been joint secretary in the ministry of road transport and highways.
14. Pravir Krishna, 1987 batch MP cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of shipping.
15. AJV Prasad, 1986 batch Himachal Pradesh IAS, presently on compulsory wait in the department of chemicals and petrochemicals, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries on lateral shift basis.
16. Ashwani Kumar, 1988 batch IRS-IT, has been appointed as additional FA and joint secretary, in the ministry of defence (finance).
17. Ms TCA Kalyani, 1991 batch I Civil AS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary and FA in the ministry of social justice and empowerment.
18. MC Luther, 2000 batch CSS officer, has been appointed as Protector General of Emigrants (joint secretary level) in the ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
19. Ms Kiran Puri, 1998 batch CSS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of administrative reforms and public grievances.
20. Sandeep Saxena, 1989 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner (joint secretary level) in the Election Commission of India.
21. Ms Rachna Shah, 1991 batch Kerala cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of food and public distribution.
22. Ms Anita Chauhan, 1998 batch CSS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of science and technology.
