Govt appoints 2 IRS-IT, 1 IFoS as joint secretaries; 4 non-IAS posted as directors


THE government late last week appointed two IRS-IT and one Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officers as union joint secretaries. Meanwhile, four non-IAS officers have been posted as directors in union ministries or departments. In one of those appointments, an Indian Ordnance Factory Service officer, was given a berth as director in the ministry of drinking water and sanitation. Here below is the full list:

1. Ms Namita J Priyadarshee, 1989 batch Rajasthan cadre Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of agriculture, cooperation and farmers welfare in place of 1997 batch Kerala cadre IAS Shasidhar K Srinivas.
2. Sanjay Prasad, 1990 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of expenditure in place of K Rajaraman, 1989 batch Tamil Nadu cadre lAS.
3. Naval Jit Kapoor, 1992 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of tribal affairs in place of Rajesh Aggarwal, 1989 batch Maharashtra cadre lAS. 
4. Kapil Chaudhary, 2002 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service officer, has been appointed as director in the ministry of drinking water and sanitation. 
5. Ms. Sangeeta Saxena, 2001 batch Indian Economic Service officer, has been appointed as director in the department of commerce. 
6. Dr SB Deepak Kumar, 2005 batch AGMUT cadre IAS, has been appointed as executive director of Handloom Export Promotion Council, Chennai. The same office memorandum also said that the ACC had already cancelled its earlier appointment of 2006 batch UP cadre IAS Ms Selvakumari Jayarajan for the same post. 
7. Ms Sampa Saha, 1992 batch Indian Telecom Service officer, has been appointed as director in the department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP). 
8. Pranjol Chandra, 2001 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers officer, has been appointed as director in the ministry of civil aviation.
