After India's entry into Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Govt appoints there 2 IFS officers — Anand Prakash, Krishna K

TWO Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers — Anand Prakash of 2005 batch and Krishna K of 2012 batch — have been appointed in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) secretariat, Beijing, for three years. Eurasian political, economic and security organisation created by nations such as China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in 2001. India and Pakistan joined this group as its full members only in June this year. India has been an observer there since 2005.
Meanwhile, Surendra Kumar Ahirwar, 1997 batch Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, has been appointed as director in the department of commerce for a period of five years. Also, Ms Renjitha Maniyil Haridasan, 2008 batch Haryana cadre Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed as deputy secretary in the ministry of drinking water and sanitation.
In another appointment, BC Joshi, 1992 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service officer, has been appointed as director in the ministry of home affairs (MHA) for five years. Also, Deepak Kumar, a 1998 batch Indian Post and Telecommunication Accounts and Finance officer has been appointed as director in the ministry of home affairs (MHA) for a period of five years.
In another development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of BP Sharma, 1981 batch Bihar cadre retired IAS, to the post of chairman, Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) in DRDO, on a contract basis, for three years. He will get the rank and status of a secretary to Government of India.
