2 new CMDs, 1 MD and extension of tenure for ITPO CMD and former home secretary LC Goyal

ON MONDAY, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) gave its nod to the appointment of two CMDs — of Andrew Yule and Co Ltd and Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL)—, one MD (IFCL Ltd), apart from extending the tenure of LC Goyal, the CMD of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) for one more year. According to a notification, Emandi Sankara Rao, director and CEO of IAMCL (MF), IDC and CGM, IIFCL has been appointed as MD and CEO of IFCL Ltd for the three years. IFCI, earlier known as Industrial Finance Corporation of India, is a government-owned bank catering to the long-term finance needs of the industrial sector.
Then, Santosh Sharma, director (operations), Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) has been elevated as the new CMD of HCL. Also, Debasis Jana, director (planning), Andrew Yule and Co Ltd, Kolkata will be the new chairman and managing director (CMD) of the company. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) gave its nod to his appointment for five years or till his retirement, whichever is earlier. 
Meanwhile, Deependra Kumar, 1996 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer, has been appointed as director in the department of expenditure. And, 2005 batch Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer Nijamuddin has been appointed as director in the ministry of minority affairs.
