UP bureaucrats demand flats in Lucknow or Noida at “reasonable rates”; asks state govt to expedite promotion processes

UTTAR PRADESH cadre IAS officers on Saturday demanded plots or flats either in Lucknow or Noida at “reasonable rates”, according to reports quoting UP IAS Association’s annual general meeting held in Lucknow as a part of the annual IAS week ended yesterday. The officers have also demanded that the IAS of 1985 and 1986 batches should get the same pay scale as that of the chief secretary. And the process of all promotion-related matters including the promotion of 1992 batch officers as principal secretary and 2001 batch officers as secretary to the government, should be completed wrapped up before the Election Commission of India…
announces the dates of UP assembly polls — the day the model code of conduct will get implemented. The officers also demanded that the academic session of Sanskriti School, being set up in a site on Lucknow- Varanasi highway, be commenced from March, 2017. Sanskriti schools, for the record, has a quota system for admitting children of civil servants.
Meanwhile, state chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday hosted a lunch for his senior administrators, as a part of the IAS week celebrated between December 15 and December 18. In his address, CM appealed the IAS officers to work with a clear conscience, and also deliver the work honestly so that people's perception about the government of the day gets improved. Yadav complimented some officers such as former chief secretary Alok Ranjan and CEO of UPEIDA (U.P. Expressways Industrial Development Authority) Navneet Sehgal for their roles in delivering key infrastructure projects such as Lucknow metro and Agra-Lucknow expressway. 
On matters of promotion, CM said how his government had designated IAS officers up to those of 1984 batch as additional chief secretary.
The activities during the IAS Week included photography competition, flower arrangement, children’s quiz, Rangoli competition, cultural shows, spouse meet, and a friendly IAS Versus IPS cricket match.
