19 new joint secretaries in ministries of defence, home, commerce etc. Full List

CONTINUING the trend of appointing a large number of senior bureaucrats in one go, the Central government on Wednesday appointed 19 joint secretary level officers across ministries. Though IAS dominated the show, a number of Group “A” services officers including from services such as IPS, IRS-IT, IRSME, CSS, IRAS, IRSEE etc. have figured in the list. Here is the full list of 19 new JS:

1. Sanjay Chadha, IRSME officer of 1985 batch, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of commerce in place of Asit K Tripathy, 1986 batch Odisha cadre IAS.
2. Anita Praveen, 1989 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of commerce in place of Sumanta Chaudhuri, 1985 batch West Bengal cadre IAS.
3. Ashok Dongre, 1987 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the defence ministry in place of Vikram Dev Dutt, 1993 batch UT cadre IAS.
4.  Mukesh Mittal, 1987 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in home ministry in place of GV Venugopala Sharma, 1986 batch Odisha cadre IAS.
5. Niharika Barik, 1997 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of food and public distribution in place of Ajai Saxena, 1984 batch UT cadre IFS.
6. Dinesh Singh Bist, 1987 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of minority affairs in place of Yashpal Singh, 1984 batch Manipur-Tripura cadre IAS.
7. JP Agarwal, 1998 batch CSS officer, has been appointed as principal commissioner, DDA under the ministry of urban development in place of T Srinidhi, 1993 batch CSS officer.
8. Ms Tanuja Pande, 1987 batch IRAS officer, has been appointed as deputy director general in UIDAI on internal shift of Alok Chaturvedi, 1985 batch IDAS officer, DDG to Bengaluru.
9. Sudeep Jain, 1994 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has been appointed as Director General (Training), Election Commission of India, in place of Ashish Srivastava, 1992 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS.
10. Sanjeev Sood, 1984 batch IRSEE officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of atomic energy in place of PR Bhaviskar, 1985 batch West Bengal cadre IAS.
11. Maneesh Garg, 1996 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of school education and literacy.
12. Santosh Kumar Mall, 1997 batch Bihar cadre IAS, has been appointed as Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the department of school education and literacy.
13. Devesh Chaturvedi, 1989 batch UP cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in DoPT.
14. RK Agrawal, 1997 batch Kerala cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary, in the ministry of shipping in a newly created post.
15. Alok Kumar-I, 1988 batch UP cadre IAS, presently working as Director General (Employment and Training) in the ministry of labour and employment, has been appointed as Development Commissioner (handloom) in the ministry of textile.
16. V Venu, 1990 batch Kerala cadre IAS, now DG in National Museum, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of sports.
17. Rajesh K Chaudhary, 1987 batch Punjab cadre Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of public enterprise in place of Deepti Gaur Mukherjee, 1993 batch MP cadre IAS, who was repatriated to her cadre.
18. Ravneet Kaur, 1988 batch Punjab cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP) in place of Taleen Kumar, a 1987 batch West Bengal cadre IAS on completion of his tenure on May 18, 2015.
19. Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, 1997 batch Punjab cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of home affairs for a period up to April 30, 2017 in place of Rashmi Goel, 1983 batch IRAS.
