KKR’s Midnight Win: Poonam Pandey’s nude photo; IAS officers’ witty comment

IPL Cheer Leaders
POST Kolkata Knight Riders’ victory in IPL 5 at midnight, avid Twitter lovers were pleasantly surprised by Kingfisher model Poonam Pandey posting a nude photo of hers with a tagline “And here is a Pic as i PROMISED…#OnlyForAbove18”. But it was not just Poonam Pandey who went hyper in the micro-blogging site post-midnight. There were thousands, or even more, who aired their views, made humour and congratulated the winning team. Here are comments of a few IAS officers and MPs after KKR clinched the cup in a cliff-hanger.
Srivatsa Krishna, a 1994 batch Karnataka cadre IAS, said: “As I had predicted last week @VenkyMysore's boys #KKR have won #IPL.” In fact, Venky Mysore who has an experience of over 25 years working in the financial sector, is the CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders. Krishna who tweeted is a known TV analyst, and is an MBA from Harvard.  He was shifted from Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka cadre on the ground of marriage.
Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien put lots of colour into the photo-finish, as he said “A boy who was born In Howrah hit the winning run for KKR.A boy born in Bangladesh was the non-striker, cheering. Jago Bangla, Jago #ipl”, describing the two guys who finally gave Kolkata the victory.
1995 batch Nagaland cadre IAS officer Abhishek Singh commented,”… Looks like the World Cup Victory”. He found the recently concluded IPL most interesting. “Praying for a World Cup of T20 on this format! It will be amazing!” he added.
Earlier on Sunday, many bureaucrats enjoyed the fact that Aamir Khan, in his highly acclaimed show Satyamev Jayate, featured a 2004 batch IAS officer Dr Samit Sharma as a hero. One of the visitors alerted BoI, “Dr. Samit , who appeared in today's show was a doctor who turned into an IAS”. Sharma who as MD of Rajasthan Healthcare Services, is instrumental in making cheaper medicines available to aam aadmi. Dr Sharma is a child specialist-turned IAS. In an era of bureaucracy-bashing, Aamir's appreciation of an IAS won the hearts of thousands of babus.
