Bureaucrats In Classroom: 14th training workshop on preparation of cabinet notes to be held on Nov 9-10

THE writing training for Indian bureaucrats at the level of deputy secretary and director is continuing. The 14^th training workshop on preparation of cabinet notes will take place on November 9-10, 2010, according to a DoPT circular dated October 19.

All Central government ministries and departments are requested to nominate two of their officers for the workshop. The nominated officers must not attend any of such workshop held earlier. The seriousness of organizing such a workshop could be gauzed as nominated officers would not be allowed to attend any regular office matters during the training.

Cabinet secretary KM Chandrasekhar’s decision to force senior bureaucrats to attend in writing classes caught the attention of media among others. But poor quality of cabinet notes compelled the cabinet secretariat to start this process of enhancing English writing skill among senior bureaucrats.

For the November session, the officers are advised to report to Chandan Mukherjee, deputy director, ISTM, Administrative Block, JNU Old Campus, New Delhi 110067.
