2 union secretaries— Amarjeet Sinha and D Narayana Raju— are on leave; Govt makes adhoc arrangements


TWO union secretaries —rural development secretary, Amarjeet Sinha, and secretary of the legislative department, D Narayana Raju, — have proceeded on leave, prompting the Government of India to give additional charge of their posts to two other union secretaries during their absence. post of secretary of the department of rural development from April 27, 2019 to May 12, 2019, when incumbent, Amarjeet Sinha, a 1983 batch Bihar cadre IAS, is on leave.
Similarly, Alok Shrivastava, a 1984 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS and secretary in the department of justice, has been bestowed the additional charge of the post of secretary, legislative department, for the period between April 25, 2019 and May 3, 2019 when incumbent D Narayana Raju, an Indian Legislative Service officer, is on leave.
In an unrelated development, the DoPT has extended the last date of application for the post of Commissioner (Joint Secretary level), Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO), Dhanbad, upto May 24, 2019. The DoPT last week wrote a letter to all union secretaries and state chief secretaries regarding this.
