Ms Sangeet Verma appointed as Competition Commission member; tenure of PMO’s deputy secretary Ajit Kumar extended


Ms. Sangeet Verma has been appointed as a Member of the Competition Commission of India (CCI). She will be given a consolidated pay package of Rs 4 lakh per month, without doling out any official car and bungalow. She is appointed for a period of five years. Meanwhile, Kalpana Mittal Baruah, 1985 batch Punjab cadre IAS, presently in the cabinet secretariat, has been repatriated to her cadre…
with an immediate effect. Ms Baruah, originally from Delhi, is an M.Sc, MBA and LLB. She knows German and Sanskrit, according to the data available with the DoPT.
In another development, the tenure of PMO’s deputy secretary and 2006 batch Kerala cadre IAS Ajit Kumar, has been extended for a period of one year beyond February 25, 2019. Kumar, 41, originally hails from Uttar Pradesh.
