1995 batch Bihar IAS and doctorate in plant pathology B Rajender appointed in Indian Embassy, Rome

B Rajender, 1995 batch Bihar cadre IAS, has been appointed as Minister (Agriculture) in Embassy of India in Rome, Italy. His appointment is for a period of three years. Minister is a post usually equivalent to a GoI joint secretary. Rajender, 51, originally belongs to…
Telangana. He is a PhD in plant pathology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. In 2010, he participated in an irrigation management programme in China. Earlier in 2009, he spent 16 days in Philippines for a rice breeding course. 
Meanwhile, in another development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Pavan Kumar Rai, 1997 batch Punjab cadre IPS officer, as Joint Secretary (Personnel), Ministry of External Affairs for a period of three years in place of Rashmi Ranjan Swain, 1991 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IPS. 
Further, Navneet Soni, a 1988 batch Indian Revenue Service — Income Tax (IRS-IT) officer, has been appointed as Member Secretary in the National Monuments Authority under the ministry of culture. The Authority is vested with responsibilities of protection and preservation of monuments and sites. One amongst these responsibilities of the NMA is to consider grant of permissions to applicants for construction related activity in the prohibited and regulated area, according to NMA’s official website.
Also, Ashish Kumar, 1996 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service officer and current director in the department of personnel and training (DoPT), has been appointed as Director, NITI Aayog, on lateral shift basis. 
Also, advisor of NITI Aayog, Anil Srivastava who is a 1985 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS, has been redesigned as Principal Advisor, NITI Aayog.
