CBI’s DSP transferred to Port Blair; Kerala cadre IFoS officer prematurely repatriated


Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), AK Bassi, has been transferred to the anti-corruption bureau in Port Blair in the Andaman Islands. Bassi, who was the investigative officer of the CBI special director, Rakesh Asthana, in a bribery case, was asked to join his new post immediately in “public interest”, according to an order issued by the administrative section of the investigative agency. deputy inspectors general Manish Kumar Sinha, Tarun Gauba, Jasbir Singh, Anish Prasad, KR Chaurasia, Amit Kumar et al. Bassi is reportedly a close aide of the agency’s director Alok Verma who was at loggerhead with Asthana. Both Verma and Asthana were on Tuesday night asked to proceed on leave. 
In an unrelated development, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the creation of one post of director in the basic pay of Rs 2.25 lakh plus NPA but not exceeding Rs 2,37,500 each for new AIIMS at Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh), Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Bathinda (Punjab), Guwahati (Assam), Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) and Deoghar (Jharkhand). The director will act as the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute and will be in-charge of overall administration of the institute and allocate duties to the officers and employees of the institute, according to a statement issued by the cabinet secretariat. 
Meanwhile, in another development, the competent authority has approved the proposal of department of commerce for the premature repatriation of Ms Sobhana Kamala Sudarsana Rao, 1987 batch Kerala cadre Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer and the development commissioner, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) to her parent cadre in order to avail the pension benefits due to her promotion in the cadre.
In another development, the executive director (human resources) of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), Ajay Kumar, has been elevated to the post of director (personnel), RVLN.
