Textiles secretary Anant Kumar Singh shifted to dept of land resources; Arun Goel elevated as culture secretary


IN A minor secretary level reshuffle on Thursday, the government changed the ministries of two union secretaries — textiles secretary getting shifted to the department of land resources and secretary, culture, being posed as new textiles secretary. Meanwhile, a special secretary is elevated as union secretary in the ministry of culture. Here below are the details:
1. Raghvendra Singh, 1983 batch West Bengal cadre IAS and secretary in the ministry of culture, has been appointed as secretary, ministry of textiles.
2. Anant Kumar Singh, 1984 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS and secretary in the ministry of textiles, has been appointed as secretary in the department of land resources in place of Dinesh Singh, 1982 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS who retired in June end.
3. Arun Goel, 1985 batch Punjab cadre IAS and special secretary in the ministry of culture, has been appointed as secretary in the ministry of culture.
Meanwhile, Ram Sewak Sharma, retired IAS and chairman of TRAI, has been reappointed in the same position for a further period till September 30, 2020, the date he attains the age of 65 years. Also, 2006 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS Ankit Anand has been appointed as director of Census Operations/Director of Citizens Registration, Chhattisgarh. He will be posted in the state with a rank of union deputy secretary.
