IRDA’s JS-ranked executive director prematurely repatriated


THE government has prematurely repatriated Maruthi Prasad Tangirala, a 1990 batch Indian Post and Telecommunications Finance and Accounts Service officer and executive director (joint secretary level) in Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), Hyderabad, on personal grounds with the imposition of extended cooling off conditions. Meanwhile, DD Padsalgikar, 1982 batch Maharashtra cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) and Director General of Police of the state, was earlier this week given an extension for a period of three months beyond his retirement today (Aug 31). A DoPT notification issued on Tuesday said, the ACC approved the officer’s three months long extension in relaxation of rule 16(1) of All India Service (DCR) rules, 1958, in “public interest”. Mumbai Police Commissioner and 1985 batch IPS Subodh Jaiswal is considered a front-runner for the post of Maharashtra DGP once Padsalgikar’s extended term ends.
In another appointment-related news, Rabi Kumar Naskar, a Central Secretariat Service officer, has been posted as an under secretary in the ministry of rural development.
