AGMUT cadre IAS Niharika Rai to be Gadkari’s PS in Ganga rejuvenation


THE Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday approved the appointment of Niharika Rai, a 2005 batch AGMUT cadre IAS, as private secretary to Nitin Gadkari, the minister for road transport and highways, shipping and water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation. deputy secretary of the Government of India, according to the ACC order. She was recently appointed as the PS to Gadkari in the ministry of shipping. Earlier, she was the PS to the minister of state in the ministry of statistics and programme implementation. Rai, 36, originally belongs to Delhi. She had earlier served in Mizoram and Chandigarh. 
In another development, the government on Tuesday made a reshuffle at the mid-management level of the PSU officials. Here are the details:
a) Rajendra Harbhagwan Singh Juneja, an Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer and General Manager in MECON Limited, has been appointed as director (finance) in MECON Limited for a period of five years. 
b) Pradip Kumar Mishra, ED in SAIL, has been appointed as director (commercial) in National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) for a period of five years.
c) Arup Chatterjee, General Manager in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), has been appointed as director (engineering and R and D) in HAL for a period of five years.
d) Subodh Gupta, General Manager in Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), has been appointed as director (finance), BHEL.
e) Sanjay Kumar Moitra, ED in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), has been appointed as director (onshore), ONGC, for a period of five years.
f) Surinder Pal Singh Jaggi, ED in Steel Authority of India Limited, has been appointed as director (personnel and administration) in Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) for a period of five years.
