IAS Sharat Chauhan gets 2 years extension in WHO; MoS Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti’s PS elevated as OSD


THE government has approved the extension in tenure of foreign assignment of Dr Sharat Chauhan, 1994 batch AGMUT cadre IAS, as technical officer, planning and coordination, Grade 5 in World Health Organization (WHO), New Delhi, for a period between February 9, 2018 to February 29, 2020. extension in tenure of Pawan Kumar Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India for a period of three months beyond February 16, 2018 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Meanwhile, Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officer Suresh Kumar’s tenure as private secretary to minister of state for food processing industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti was curtained last week, and he was appointed as her officer-on-special duty (OSD) in the same order. And Ms Ashima Jain, 2008 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, was appointed as MoS Jyoti’s private secretary in place of Kumar.
In PSU-related appointments, Jagdish Chander Nakra has been appointed as the new CMD of Engineers India Limited (EIL). And Ranjan Kumar Mahapatra, presently an executive director in Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), has been appointed as director (human resources) in IOCL. Another IOCL executive, BV Rama Gopal, has been appointed as director (refineries) in IOCL.
