2 IPS officers' tenure in SPG extended; IAS R Rajagopal prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre

THE government on Wednesday issued orders of extension of tenure of two IPS officers — Munna Prasad Gupta and Tsewang Namgyal Kalon, in Special Protection Group (SPG), an elite armed force that provides security to Prime Minister of India, former prime ministers and their families. Here are the detailed appointments:
1. The government has extended the deputation tenure of Munna Prasad Gupta, a 1995 batch Assam cadre IPS and IG in SPG for the period from February 21, 2018 to September 15, 2019. 
2. The government has extended the deputation tenure of Tsewang Namgyal Kalon, a 1995 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IPS and the IG in SPG for the period from January 4, 2018 to September 15, 2018. 
3. The competent authority has given the cadre clearance to RB Sinha, a 1986 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre Indian Forest Service (IFoS), for taking long term foreign assignment with National Center for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), South Asia Regional office (SARP ) in New Delhi.
4. The competent authority has given cadre clearance to Shantanu P Gotmare, a 2004 batch Assam cadre IAS, for taking up the foreign assignment as country representative of Global Green Growth Institute, New Delhi.
5. Meanwhile, the government has prematurely repatriated R Rajagopal, 1984 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS and adviser in Inter State Council Secretariat, to his parent cadre without imposing the conditions of extended cooling off. 
6. Also, the government has extended the Central deputation tenure of Manoj Kumar P, 1998 batch Indian Statistical Service officer and director of rural development ministry for three months, till January 22, 2018.
