DELHI girl Tina Dabi has topped the 2015 civil services examination in her very first attempt, whereas an IRTS officer-trainee Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan from Anantnag in Kashmir and Indian Revenue Service (Custom and Central Excise) officer trainee Jasmeet Singh Sandhu from Delhi secured the second and third rank respectively. Ms Dabi, 22, graduated from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi, and is a resident of…
Haryana. Out of 1,164 candidates selected after written and personality tests, as many as 180 were chosen for IAS whereas 45 would become IFS and 150 IPS, according to the results, as announced by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday.
Ms Dabi in an interview to a television channel gave all her credit to her mother, adding that she used to study eight hours a day on an average though there were instances when she actually studied up to 14 hours a day. Second rank holder Athar, who has now been undertaking training at the Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management, Lucknow, wants to opt for his home cadre Jammu and Kashmir, but in the same news channel, India Today, he made it amply clear that he would be happy to work anywhere in the country.
The third rank holder Jasmeet thanked his parents — his father works at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Delhi — and also his teachers for his success, according to reports quoting him.
IAS Association in a social media site congratulated “all those who made it to the Civil Services”, adding: “Welcome to the family”. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also congratulated topper Dabi.
Retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi posted in Twitter: “Delhi Girl, Tina Dabi and the Kashmir boy Athar Khan, top the list of UPSC exam of this year. Full marks: Bravo…”

  1. If I am right, topper belongs to SC community. This again brings into question the policy of reservation for creamy layer of SC and ST category. This policy needs a review so that actual needy Indians may benefit from this useful policy.

  2. Tina Dabi is reportedly from the reserved category.
It is commendable and unprecedented in the history of UPSC.

She must have qualified and topped in merit list at general(unrelaxed) standard ?

She must not have obtained any relaxation at pre- and post-stage of Civil Services examination?

It is commendable and unprecedented in the history of UPSC .

She must have qualified and topped in the final merit order list at general ( unrelaxed) standard ?

She must not have got any relaxation at pre- and post- stage of civil services examination.?

The marks obtained in CSP-2015 are not counted while finalising the merit order list.

The UPSC can commit NO wrong.
    It is a fair body.

I reserve my comments on scaling and moderation of marks of optionals.
