Civil Services Day function kicks off in New Delhi; bureaucrats to discuss how to replicate PM's Awards in states, districts

AS THIS article is being written, the two-day-long Civil Services Day function is about to begin in New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan. According to the schedule being lined up by the department of administrative reforms and public grievances (DARPG), the nodal department handling the function, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the bureaucrats on April 21. Today (Wednesday), the key highlights include an address by railway minister Suresh Prabhu and a discussion on how to replicate the PM's awards in states or even districts. Here below are the programme details:

Day 1
(April 20, 2016)
1. Welcome speech by secretary, DARPG
2. Address by chief guest, i.e. railway minister Suresh Prabhu
3. A discussion on PM Awards replication in states/districts
4. A Discussion on priority programmes identified for Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration

Day 2 
(April 21, 2016)
1. Welcome speech by cabinet secretary PK Sinha
2. Speech by MoS, PMO Jitendra Singh
3. Film on Awarded initiatives under priority programmes
4. Presentation by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant on status of implementation of reports of group of secretaries
5. Distribution of PM Awards
6. Release of 2 books by PM on
a) Last Year’s Awards and their replication
b) Action Plans for Implementation of Group of Secretaries Report
7. Address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
