Centre to hold meeting with state principal secretaries in-charge of personnel dept in August; demands action taken reports

IN AUGUST, state principal secretaries handling personnel and general administration departments, will be called to New Delhi for a meeting with the Centre. It is likely to be a free-wheeling discussion between state principal secretaries and minister of state handling personnel department Jitendra Singh. And the agenda?...The DoPT in an email communication on Thursday informed the state chief secretaries about the proposed meeting next month, asking them to send items of common interest which may be included in the agenda of the meeting. Such a meeting to discuss about Centre-state issues on appointments, deputation, cadre control etc. took place on September 27, 2013. The Centre has now asked the states to submit an Action Taken Note on the decisions taken in that meeting. The minutes of the meeting were sent separately. The state government’s action taken reports may be “sent to this department through e-mail as well as hard copy on priority, in any case before 7th July, 2014,” the DoPT’s letter to chief secretaries said.
