Post with Dollar Salary: JS level officer wanted in World Bank’s Washington HQ

HERE is a vacancy in Washington, US, for a joint secretary-ranked official. The post of senior adviser to the executive director of World Bank will fall vacant on October 13, 2014, and the government has begun the process of choosing the suitable candidate. But if the earlier trends are any indication, officials from…finance ministry or the PMO are selected for such a coveted post in which salary comes in dollars. The officer should have been empanelled to hold joint secretary or equivalent posts at the Centre, and should be at least three batches below the next batch to be considered for empanelment as additional secretary to Government of India, according to a notification issued by the DoPT on June 26. The officer must have worked for at least two years at the Centre under the Central Staffing Scheme, and he or she should have at least “Very Good” service record. Preference will, however, be given to officers who have “Outstanding” service record with a grading of 9 and above.
The officer should not be over 54 years of age. Any officer currently on study leave or long leave, don’t qualify.
Desirable qualifications include experience in the areas related to infrastructure development, international trade, public finance in the ministries or departments of the government of India or in the state government. Those with experiences in externally aided projects will be preferred. It is also desired that the candidate should possess degrees in economics, management, public finance or international trade.
