Any suggestion on women safety? Any Complaint? Contact Usha Mehra Commission at Vigyan Bhawan

ON DAY 1 of the New Year 2013, the government announced constituting a Special Task Force comprising Union home secretary, Delhi chief secretary among others to look into safety issues of women in Delhi on a fortnightly basis. The Commission will suggest measures to improve the safety and security of women, particularly in Delhi and National Capital Region of Delhi that includes parts of UP, Haryana and Rajasthan. Justice Ms Mehra Commission will function from their office at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi.
The Union home secretary-headed Special Task Force, on the other hand, will look into the safety issues of women in Delhi and review the functioning of Delhi Police on an on-going basis. The home secretary will be aided by other members: chief secretary, Delhi, commissioner of police, Delhi, special CP (traffic), Delhi Police, Special CP (law and order), Delhi Police, chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women, chairperson, NDMC, transport commissioner, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), commissioner, East Delhi Municipal Corporation, commissioner, North Delhi Municipal Corporation, commissioner, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, excise commissioner, GNCTD and joint secretary (UT).

Action and Appointments
a) Balvender Kumar, a 1981 batch UP cadre IAS, presently additional secretary, department of agriculture and cooperation, has been appointed as Development Commissioner (Handlooms), under the ministry of textiles in the rank and pay of additional secretary.
b) Hem Kumar Pande, a 1982 batch West Bengal cadre IAS, presently joint secretary under the ministry of environment and forests, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of environment and forests in the vacancy of MF Farooqui, a 1978 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS.
c) Rajiv Sharma, a 1982 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS currently Mission Director, National Mission Clean Ganga, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of home affairs in place of Anil Goswami, a 1978 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS.
d) Avinash K Srivastava, a 1982 batch UP cadre IAS, presently additional secretary in the ministry of corporate affairs, has been appointed as additional secretary in the department of agriculture and cooperation.
e) Dinesh Singh, a 1982 batch UP cadre IAS, presently joint secretary in the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of statistics and programme implementation.
f) Ms. Snehlata Srivastava, a 1982 batch MP cadre IAS, presently joint secretary in the department of justice, has been appointed as additional secretary in the department of financial services.
g) The ACC has also approved that Sunil Soni, a 1981 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS, will be placed on compulsory wait till he is given another posting.
h) D Haraprasad, a 1984 batch Assam cadre Indian Forest Service officer, has been empaneled for the post of a joint secretary or equivalent at the Centre under the Central Staffing Scheme.
i) Ms L Tochhawng, an officer of 1984 batch Indian Civil Accounts Service officer, has been empaneled for appointment to the post of joint secretary or equivalent at the Centre.
