after his routine morning walk when the accident took place. The media reports quoting a police commissioner said he was crossing the road when the car hit him. He was taken to the city’s SMS hospital. Singh succumbed to the injuries in the hospital.
A master degree holder both in physics and economics, he was on a study tour, according to DoPT records.
He was district magistrate of Jaipur in early 1990s, and had handled a number of important departments including home, forests and PWD.
Singh is survived by his wife and two daughters.
