A vacancy at WTO office in Geneva for an Indian government officer to grab

The government has proposed to fill up the post of Counsellor (Services) in Permanent Mission of India, WTO, for a three-year-term. The post is equivalent to a…
deputy secretary or a director level officer in Central government. The mandatory qualifications include two years of work experience at the Centre under Central Staffing Scheme, experience in trade, commerce, industries etc., at least “very good” service records if not “outstanding”. The officer applying for the post should not be over 54 years of age. The exposure to international negotiations in trade, commerce, industries and allied sectors is a desirable qualification.

Action and Appointments
a) Ms K Damayanthi, a 1993 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of Development of North Eastern Region in place of Ms Jayashree Mukherjee, a 1986 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS who was posted as Vice-chairman, IWAI under the ministry of shipping.
b) Ms Neerja, a 1993 batch Haryana cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of Panchayati Raj.
c) The Central deputation tenure of Ms Bhamathi, a 1979 batch Bihar cadre IAS, who is now an additional secretary in rural development ministry, has been extended till her retirement on August 31, 2013.
