Training course for liaison officers at Chandigarh from November 12-14

THERE will be yet another residential training programme for the liaison officers for STs, SCs and OBCs on government’s reservation policy, this time in Chandigarh from November 12 to 14. The programme, organized by Institute of Public Administration, Bangalore, is meant for sensitizing the liaison officers on government’s reservation policy. About 115 participants were benefited from a similar exercise that took place at Cochin in August end this year. The ministries and departments are requested to nominate the officers to take part in the training programme at Chandigarh. In fact, the Constitution bench of the Supreme Court in the case of R K Sabharwal Vs state of Punjab, as well as J C Mullick Vs ministry of Railways had held that reservation of jobs to ST/SC/OBCs should apply to posts and not to vacancies hereafter. The present training programme is a part of the series of interventions to disseminate information on post based rosters (PBR). The delegate fee including taxes is Rs 17,648 only.
