80 additional secretaries, joint secretaries appointed as MSME Prabhari officers; Full List


AS MANY as 80 senior officers, all at the rank of union joint secretary or additional secretary, have been appointed as Prabhari officers for MSME hubs. The officers are expected to lead a team of personnel from banks, EPFO, ECIS, SIDBI, DICs etc. and work in close collaboration with the state government and the district administration at the ground level for promoting micro and medium industries. The focus will be on the issues such as ease and access to credit, ease of cash flow, access to market, coverage of employees under social security benefits, quality certification, sectoral ministry interventions et al. Govt empanels 54 IAS as secretaries, 96 IAS as additional secretaries; Full List


LATE last week, the government empanelled 54 IAS officers as union secretary or secretary-equivalent and as many as 96 IAS officers as union additional secretary. Among them, the majority — 35 secretary-empanelled officers — belong to 1986 batch IAS. Among the empanelled additional secretaries, 41 officers belong to 1989 batch and 40 are from 1990 batch. LAST week, 1986 batch Haryana cadre lAS Ms Rajni Sekhri Sibal was appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of home affairs (MHA). She was working as the Director General in the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) when the order came. But here’s a factoid about this officer. IN A major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Central government has appointed 12 officers at the level of additional secretaries, two as joint secretaries, apart from extending tenure of two others. Though IAS officers dominate the list of new additional secretaries, there are three non-IAS officers — 1986 batch Indian Economic Service officer Ms. Mala Dutt, 1985 batch IRS-IT officer Ms Shefali Shah and 1986 batch Indian Defence Accounts Service officer Sanjeev Kumar — who have managed to be among the GoI's new additional secretaries. Did you miss out the list of 13 non-IAS officers getting empanelled as GoI additional secretaries?

IT’S still not easy for non-IAS officers to move up to the rank of an additional secretary, as majority of them end up retiring at a level equivalent to union joint secretaries. But things are changing, albeit slowly. In mid-January, or January 12 to be precise, the government issued an order appointing 13 officers — they belonged to IES, IRPS, IAAS, IRS IT, IRSME, ISS, IDAS, CSS, IRPS — as union additional secretaries. Govt approves appointment of 35 new additional secretaries; Full List

THE Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Friday gave its nod to the appointment of 35 new additional secretaries or additional secretary-equivalent.  Whereas 1987 batch IAS Pradip Kumar Tripathi was promoted as additional secretary in DoPT, 1985 batch IAS Usha Sharma was made the new director general of Archaeological Survey of India. Also, Ms Ravneet Kaur, 1988 batch Punjab cadre IAS, will now be the new CMD of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). THE Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday approved the empanelment of as many as 39 IAS officers of 1987 batch and 37 IAS officers of 1988 batch as additional secretary or additional secretary equivalent in Government of India. THE government on Monday appointed 11 officers as additional secretaries or additional secretary-equivalent. The officers include seven IAS, two IDAS (Indian Defence Accounts Service), and one each from IRS-IT and Indian Economic Service (IES). 13 new additional secretaries appointed -- 8 IAS, one each from IFoS, IDAS, ICAS, IES and Indian Audit and Accounts Service

THE Central government on Friday appointed as many as 13 officers at the rank of additional secretary, some of whom were laterally shifted from one ministry to another. The new officers include eight IAS, one each from Indian Audit and Accounts Service,  Indian Forest Service, IDAS, ICAS and Indian Economic Service. The list incidentally has two Arun Goyal/Goels — Arun Goyal of AGMUT cadre in GST Council against a newly-created post, and Arun Goel of Punjab cadre who has been laterally shifted from Delhi Development Authority's vice president's post to a new assignment as additional secretary in the ministry of labour and employment.
