THE Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Wednesday approved in-situ upgradation of nine officers of the rank of additional secretaries and secretaries. Here below is the full list of nine officers and their new positions:

IN A major bureaucratic reshuffle at the Centre, the government on Tuesday appointed 1985 batch IAS Ajay Kumar as secretary in the department of defence production, his batchmate and Bangalore metro chief Pradeep Singh Kharola as new Air India CMD before transferring Delhi chief secretary MM Kutty as additional secretary in the department of economic affairs. 5 IAS, 1 each from IRTS, IRS, IDAS get appointed as joint secretaries; railway officer given role in textiles ministry

ON SATURDAY, the appointments committee of the cabinet headed by prime minister Narendra Modi cleared decks for appointing eight officers as union joint secretaries, the key highlight being five of them are IAS, and one each from the railways, defence accounts and IRS-IT service. An Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer Madhukumar Reddy Anam was appointed as joint secretary in textile ministry, and joint secretaries of the ministries of science and technology and department of electronics were swapped.
