Govt approves appointment of 35 new additional secretaries; Full List

THE Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Friday gave its nod to the appointment of 35 new additional secretaries or additional secretary-equivalent.  Whereas 1987 batch IAS Pradip Kumar Tripathi was promoted as additional secretary in DoPT, 1985 batch IAS Usha Sharma was made the new director general of Archaeological Survey of India. Also, Ms Ravneet Kaur, 1988 batch Punjab cadre IAS, will now be the new CMD of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). IN THE last few days, the Central government has undertaken a major administrative reshuffle at the level of joint secretary and additional secretary, the highlights being the premature repatriation of CMD of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) to his parent cadre Jammu and Kashmir, and the government’s change of mind in appointing Pradip Kumar Tripathi as DoPT joint secretary by canceling his earlier order of appointing him in new and renewable energy ministry.
