30 union joint secretaries appointed; 9 non-IAS manage berths; Full List


IN A mega bureaucratic reshuffle on Monday, the Central government appointed or laterally transferred as many as 30 joint secretary or joint secretary-equivalent officers. As many as 21 belong to IAS whereas nine non-IAS belonging to services such as IPS, Indian Forest Service (IFoS), IRS-IT, Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Indian Railway Accounts Service, IDAS and IRTS, also manage to get berths as new JS. Here below is the full list of the new JS:

1. Abhilaksh Likhi, 1991 batch Haryana cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of agriculture, cooperation and farmers welfare in place of Ashish K Bhutani, 1992 batch Assam cadre IAS.
2. Paban K Borthakur, 1989 batch Assam cadre IAS, presently a joint secretary in the department of agriculture, cooperation and farmers welfare, has been appointed as chairman (JS level) of APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) under the department of commerce, on lateral shift basis.
3. Atish Chandra, 1994 batch Bihar cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of agriculture, cooperation and farmers welfare.
4. Bhabani Prasad Pati, 1994 batch Gujarat cadre Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of coal in place of NK Sudhanshu, a 2000 batch Maharashtra cadre lAS.
5. Ms Vismita Tej, 1990 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of coal.
6. Ms Nidhi Mani Tripathi, 2001 batch Manipur cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of commerce in place of Manoj K Dwivedi, 1997 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS. 
7. Anand Mohan Bajaj, 1990 batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of economic affairs (DEA) in place of Praveen Garg, 1988 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS.
8. Ms V Vidyavathi, 1991 batch Karnataka cadre lAS, presently a joint secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of environment, forest and climate change, on lateral shift basis.
9. Gyanesh Bharti, 1998 batch AGMUT cadre IAS, presently a joint secretary in the ministry of environment, forest and climate change, has been appointed as joint secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, on lateral shift basis.
10. Partha Sarthi Sensharma, 1994 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of fertilisers in place of Ms Alka Tiwari, 1988 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS.
11. RK Khandelwal, 1989 batch Bihar cadre lAS, has been appointed as deputy Director General (JS level) in the department of telecommunications.
12. S Jagannathan, 1989 batch IRTS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of food and public distribution.
13. Ms Sukriti Likhi, 1993 batch Haryana cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary, in the department of heavy industry in place of Sivanand N, a 1985 batch IOFS officer.
14. Mandeep Bhandari, 2001 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of health and family welfare.
15. Piyush Goel, 1994 batch Nagaland cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of home affairs in place of Sudhir Kumar Saxena, 1987 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS.
16. Ms Nidhi Khare, 1992 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of home affairs in place of Mukesh Mittal, 1987 batch IRS-IT officer.
17. Rajiv Sharma, 1993 batch IDAS officer, has been appointed as FA, NATGRID (JS level) under ministry of home affairs (MHA).
18. Ms Nandita Gupta, 2001 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of housing and urban affairs in place of Dharmendra, 1989 batch AGMUT cadre IAS.
19. Sadanand Vasant Date, 1990 batch Maharashtra cadre IPS, has been appointed as joint secretary, in the department of justice.
20. Ajay Tewari, 1993 batch Assam cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of labour and employment.
21. Ms Neelam Sanghi, 1989 batch Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer, has been appointed as additional CPFC (Hq) (JS level), EPFO, under the ministry of labour and employment, on lateral shift basis.
22. MC Jauhari, 1987 batch Assam cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in NITI Aayog.
23. Ms Vijaylakshmi Bidari, 2001 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS, has been appointed as regional director (JS level), SSC, Bangalore, under department of personnel and training.
24. Priyank Bharti, 2001 batch Punjab cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of road transport and highways.
25. Rohit Kumar, 1997 batch Rajasthan cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of rural development.
26. Ms Leena Johri, 1994 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of rural development in place of Ms Aparajita Sarangi, 1994 batch Odisha cadre IAS.
27. Charanjit Singh, 1990 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IFoS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of rural development.
28. V Shashank Shekhar, 1996 batch Nagaland cadre IAS, presently a joint secretary in the department of school education and literacy, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of administrative reforms and public grievances, on lateral shift basis.
29. Ramchandra Meena, 1992 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of school education.
30. Ashish Srivastava, 1992 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of woman and child development.
