Three 2004 batch officers, one each from IDAS, IPoS and ISS, elevated as directors

THREE 2004 batch officers, belonging to Indian Defence Accounts Service, Indian Postal Service and Indian Statistical Service, have been elevated to the rank of directors. All those three officers were working with the central ministries as deputy secretary. A director is a notch higher than a deputy secretary in the government hierarchy. Here below are three officers and their elevation:
1. Balram Kumar, 2004 batch Indian Defence Accounts Service officer, presently a deputy secretary in the ministry of textiles, will now a director in the same ministry. Kumar’s re-designation order was issued in a DoPT order on Thursday.
2. Ashok Kumar Yadav, 2004 batch Indian Postal Service officer, presently a deputy secretary in the ministry of women and child development, has been re-designated as a director in the same ministry.
3. Siljo VK, 2004 batch Indian Statistical Service officer, presently a deputy secretary in the department of higher education, has been re-designated as director in the same department. Siljo’s central deputation tenure began on January 22, 2016.
In an unrelated development, the government has empanelled Ajay Kumar Sharma, a 1989 batch of Indian Defence Estate Service officer, as union joint secretary or equivalent, an order issued on Tuesday said.
