IPS officer Arun Kumar Ray appointed in Tea Board; another IPS finds his tenure getting curtailed


THE government on Tuesday appointed 1988 batch Odisha cadre IPS officer Arun Kumar Ray as deputy chairman in Tea Board, Kolkata. The IPS officer will hold the rank of a union joint secretary. According to the order approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the police officer will have a tenure of 2 years, extendable upto 5 years. a union joint secretary in the ministry of home affairs (MHA). In another development, Rahul Kapoor, 2002 batch Indian Railway Accounts Service officer, has been laterally shifted from the department of financial services to the ministry of housing and urban affairs till January 14, 2023.
Also, the Central deputation tenure of Rakesh Singh Lal, 1988 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) officer and ADG (JS level) in Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) under the ministry of culture, has been extended for a period of two years beyond August 28, 2018.
Further, Sanjay Sharma, 1998 batch Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer, has been appointed as Member, Staff Selection Commission on a deputation basis. Also, P Ramesh Kumar, 1986 batch retired West Bengal cadre IAS, has been appointed as Administrative Member in West Bengal Administrative Tribunal until he turns 65. 
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has also approved the empanelment of Sanjeev Raina for the promotion to the grade of Inspector General (General Duty) in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF). Then, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has also approved the empanelment of seven officers for promotion to the grade of Principal Chief Controller of Accounts (Pr. CCA) in the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS).
In another appointment-related news, Ms Neeti Sarkar, 1995 batch Indian Railway Accounts Service  officer and director (finance and administration) in National Automotive Testing and R and D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP), has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Project Director (CEO and PD), NATRIP.
