UP IAS Pinky Jowel gets inter-cadre deputation to Tamil Nadu; AK Bamba is new chairman of Land Ports Authority of India


THE government last week gave its nod for an inter-cadre deputation of Ms Pinky Jowel, a 2003 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS, from Uttar Pradesh to Tamil Nadu cadre for a period of three years. Originally belonging to Haryana, Ms Jowel served in UP’s districts like Bahraich, Sultanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Hathras as collector and district magistrate. She is a bachelor of dental surgery from….
Kurukshetra University. She is 43 years old. 
In another development, Rajiv Nayan Choubey, a 1981 batch Tamil Nadu cadre lAS and secretary in the ministry of civil aviation, was last week assigned additional charge of the post of secretary in the ministry of environment, forests and climate change from April 28, 2018 to May 15, 2018 when incumbent CK Mishra, a 1983 batch Bihar cadre IAS, is on leave.
Also, Manik Chandra Pandit, a 2006 batch Indian Economic Service (IES) officer, has been appointed as deputy secretary in the department of rural development for a period of four years.
Meanwhile, Anil Kumar Bamba, a 1986 batch Indian Trade Service officer and Member (P and D) in Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI), has been elevated to the post of chairman, Land Ports Authority of India, on a deputation basis. LPAI, an agency that comes under the ministry of home affairs (MHA), builds land ports on India‘s borders and puts in place systems which address security imperatives at the integrated check posts on the border. 
Here’s one more important appointment news. B Anand, a 1987 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS and additional secretary and financial adviser in the department of biotechnology, has been assigned additional charge of the post of financial adviser in the department of science and technology.
