NAME CHANGE: 2011 batch IAS Sindhu B will now be Sindhu B Rupesh

Sindhu B, 2011 batch Karnataka cadre IAS, has been permitted to change her name from "Sindhu B" to "Sindhu B Rupesh. "She will accordingly be recognized as "Smt. Sindhu B Rupesh" for all official purposes”, said the DoPT order issued on October 11. But who’s Sindhu Rupesh? finance department as deputy secretary. According to DoPT records, she did her engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. She chose public administration and sociology as her subjects in the civil services examination, as per media reports on her. She got the all-India rank — 17, and was in fact the topper from her state, Karnataka. 
The officer, who originally belongs to Mysore, is now 31 years old.
While talking to media after her success in civil service examination in 2011, she attributed her success to her desire to excel coupled with sincere efforts. She said, she took IAS coaching for a short period, but the secret of her success was nothing but hard work. 
According to media reports, the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) felicitated some alumni who were selected for the IAS and allied services. That included Sindhu of electronics and Communication, 2008 batch. 
Meanwhile, in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, ace badminton player and Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu was offered a Group-I officer’s job by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, with an invitation to settle down in the newly-built capital city, Amaravati. Sindhu had accepted the offer.
