4 new appointments; repatriation of 1982 batch IAS Amitabh Verma to Bihar; and full list of 32 JS vacancies

ON FRIDAY, the Centre announced the repatriation of 1982 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, serving as chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India under the ministry of shipping, to his parent cadre Bihar “with immediate effect”. And the government found his replacement: 1983 batch AGMUT cadre IAS Ms Nutan Guha Biswas. Meanwhile, there are 32 joint secretary-level vacancies at the Centre. Here below are the details of new appointments, repatriation and full list of 32 JS vacancies:
1. Amitabh Verma, 1982 batch Bihar cadre IAS and chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India under the ministry of shipping, has been repatriated to the cadre with immediate effect.
2. Ms Nutan Guha Biswas, 1983 batch AGMUT cadre IAS and additional secretary under the ministry of women and child development, has been appointed as chairperson of Inland Waterways Authority of India under the ministry of shipping in the rank and pay of secretary by temporarily upgrading the post till July 31, 2018 or until further orders.
3. Bala Prasad, 1983 batch Manipur cadre IFoS, presently on compulsory wait, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of Panchayati Raj in place of AK Goyal, 1981 batch IFoS who has superannuated.
4. T Jacob, 1984 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS and additional secretary in the department of personnel and training, has been appointed as secretary (additional secretary level) in Union Public Service Commission in place of Asha Ram Sihag, 1983 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS.
5. Ms Vandita Sharma, 1986 batch Karnataka cadre IAS and Member (Finance), Atomic Energy/Earth Commission, has been appointed as additional secretary and financial adviser of the department of space in place of A Vijay Anand, 1980 batch IRS (C and CE:1980) officer who has superannuated.
Meanwhile, the government has brought out a list of joint secretary-level vacancies till March 2017. Here is the full list of 32 vacancies:
