THE government on Thursday appointed seven additional secretaries in various ministries, four of whom being laterally shifted from one ministry to another. Significantly, all powerful additional secretary in petroleum ministry and 1985 batch Odisha cadre IAS UP Singh has been shifted to the water resources ministry whereas Gujarat cadre IAS Girish Chandra Murmu has been shifted from expenditure to financial services department. Here are the 7 additional secretaries:
1. Ms Shalini Prasad, 1985 batch UP cadre IAS, presently in her cadre, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of power in place of Badri Narrain Sharma, 1985 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS on his appointment as additional secretary in the department of revenue under the ministry of finance.
2. Ms Madhulika P Sukul, 1982 batch IDAS, presently in her cadre has been appointed as additional secretary in the department of consumer affairs in place of G Gurucharan, 1982 batch Karnataka cadre lAS on his appointment as secretary, performance management under the cabinet secretariat.
3. Rajani Ranjan Rashmi, 1983 batch Manipur cadre IAS, now additional secretary in the department of commerce has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of environment, forest and climate change in place of Hem Kumar Pande, 1982 batch West Bengal cadre IAS on his appointment as secretary in the department of official language under the ministry of home affairs.
4. Girish Chandra Murmu, 1985 batch Gujarat cadre IAS, now additional secretary in the department of expenditure has been appointed as additional secretary in the department of financial services in place of Ms Snehlata Shrivastava,1982 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS on her appointment as secretary in the department of justice.
5. Ms Amita Prasad, 1985 batch Karnataka cadre IAS, now joint secretary in the ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of environment, forest and climate change in place of Susheel Kumar, 1982 batch UP cadre lAS on his appointment as secretary (border management) under the ministry of home affairs.
6. Nikhilesh Jha, 1984 batch Manipur cadre IAS, now additional secretary in the ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation, has been appointed as additional secretary and financial adviser in the department of food and public distribution in place of Prabhas Kumar Jha, 1982 batch UP cadre lAS on his appointment as secretary, ministry of parliamentary affairs.
7. UP Singh, 1985 batch Odisha cadre IAS, now additional secretary in the ministry of petroleum and natural gas, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation in place of Nikhilesh Jha.
