Govt finds good reason for 2002 batch IAS Pratima Satish Kumar Verma's deputation, but unsure – for how long?

THE government has found a unique glitch while considering the proposal of an inter-cadre deputation of 2002 batch Bihar cadre IAS Ms Pratima Satish Kumar Verma from Bihar to Karnataka cadre. The government of Bihar has already issued its formal consent, but a panel headed by DoPT secretary Sanjay Kothari in a meeting held on December 16, found…
the government of Bihar did not mention the period for which it is granting Ms Verma a no objection. In other words, the government of Bihar says “yes” to her deputation to Karnataka, but does not clearly say for how long. In that situation, the DoPT panel decided obtain the requisite information from the government of Bihar, with an addition that in case the reply is not received within time, the period of deputation would be presumed for 3 years.
39-year-old Ms Kumar is an MBBS before getting into IAS, and originally hails from Maharashtra. She served as SDO in Muzaffarpur, and collector in districts of Bihar such as Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Vaishali, Bhojpur and Sitamarhi.
Meanwhile, inter cadre deputation of 2008 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS Dr Pooja Pandey from Assam-Meghalaya cadre to Uttar Pradesh cadre and extension of inter cadre deputation period of 2000 batch UP cadre IAS Maneesh Chauhan from Uttar Pradesh cadre to Rajasthan cadre for a further period of two years with effect from June 2016, could also be a reality soon. In case of Ms Pandey who had asked for inter cadre deputation on personal grounds, the committee headed by secretary Kothari found that she completed required six years of actual service in the North Eastern state. It was deiced that her proposal would be along with the note of Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) may be put up for consideration and approval of ACC once requisite comments and no objections from the state governments concerned are received.
Ms Pandey is 36 years old, and did her MA in political science from Lucknow university before joining as IAS. She was an SDO in Dimapur, Nagaland, and also in West Garo Hills in Meghalaya. She has also worked in the state’s health and rural development departments. It’s quite odd, however, that in her executive records sheet available with the DoPT, it does not mention which state she originally belongs to.
So far as the extension of inter cadre deputation period of 2000 batch UP cadre IAS Maneesh Chauhan from Uttar Pradesh to Rajasthan cadre for a further period of two years was concerned, the panel headed by secretary Kothari said, it would seek comments from the state governments concerned, i.e. government of Uttar Pradesh and government of Rajasthan.
