Action Inside CBI: Deputation tenure of 6 officers extended; 8 get new rank, 2 prematurely repatriated

ON WEDNESDAY, as many as six officers belonging to India’s premier investigative agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI, were given extension whereas two officers -- 2004 batch AGMU cadre IPS Braja Kishore Singh and 2006 batch Assam cadre IPS Dr N Rajamarthandan, both currently working as Superintendents of Police (SP) in CBI, have been prematurely repatriated to their respective cadres. promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). First, here are the CBI officers who got extension of tenure in the investigative agency.
a) The deputation tenure of Ghanshyam Upadhyay, 1999 batch Odisha cadre IPS and DIG in CBI, has been extended from April 1, 2015 to August 24, 2015.
b) The deputation tenure of AS Dhillon, 1997 batch Haryana cadre IPS and DIG in CBI, has been extended from April 1, 2015 to November 18, 2016.
c) The deputation tenure of S Sengathir, 1997 batch Rajasthan cadre IPS and DIG in CBI, has been extended from April 1, 2014 to August 5, 2016.
d) The deputation tenure of Dr Atul Fulzele, 2001 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS and SP in CBI, has been extended from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016.
e) The deputation tenure of Pradip Kumar, 2003 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS and SP in CBI, has been extended from April 1, 2015 to February 13, 2016.
f) The deputation tenure of Ms PC Thenmozhi, 2002 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS and SP in CBI, has been extended from January 6, 2015 to January 5, 2017.

Meanwhile, eight CBI officers were promoted as well, according to an order issued on Wednesday. They are:
a) Umesh Chander Datta, 2000 batch Rajasthan cadre IPS, currently SP in CBI, will now be DIG in CBI till December12, 2018.
b) Ashwani Kumar Chand, 2000 batch Sikkim cadre IPS, currently SP in CBI, will now be DIG in CBI till October 30, 2016.
c) Ms Manoj Kumar Lata, 2000 batch Rajasthan cadre IPS, currently SP in CBI, will now be DIG in CBI till December 12, 2018.
d) Navajyoti Gogoi, 2000 batch Rajasthan cadre IPS, currently SP in CBI, will now be DIG in CBI till October 30, 2017.
e) Yatindra Koyal, 2000 batch Odisha cadre IPS, currently SP in CBI, will now be DIG in CBI till March 1, 2016.
f) V Chandrasekhar, 2000 batch Gujarat cadre IPS, currently SP in CBI, will now be DIG in CBI till September 9, 2017.
g) Ms Meenu Choudhary, 2000 batch AGMU cadre IPS, currently SP in CBI, will now be DIG in CBI till June 3, 2017.

And the two officers who are repatriated prematurely are:
a) Dr N Rajamarthandan, 2006 batch Assam cadre IPS, now SP in CBI has been prematurely repatriated to his cadre.
b) Braja Kishore Singh, 2004 batch AGMU cadre IPS and SP in CBI, has been prematurely repatriated to his cadre.
BoI has not been able to figure out why these two officers were “prematurely” repatriated.
