Alok Kumar is new secretary CVC; Deepak Shetty appointed as DG Shipping

ON FRIDAY, the government announced a number of key appointments including the post of secretary of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and DG Shipping among others. An old hand in tourism ministry Anand Kumar has been appointed as MD of National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation.  Here are 14 such appointments:
1. 1984 batch Assam cadre IAS Alok Kumar has been appointed as new secretary, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
2. 1980 batch IRS (C and CE) Deepak Shetty is new DG (Shipping), Directorate General of Shipping in place of 1982 batch IAS Gautam Chatterjee.
3. 1984 batch Kerala cadre IAS Anand Kumar has been appointed as MD of National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation.
4. 1984 batch MP cadre IAS Ms Vijaya Shrivastava, now joint secretary in rural development ministry, has been appointed as additional secretary in health ministry.
5. Ajay Narayan Jha, 1982 batch Manipur-Tripura cadre IAS, has been appointed as OSD in Finance Commission in place of Anjuly Chib Duggal.
6. 1979 batch ICAS officer MJ Joseph has been appointed as Director General of Bureau of Indian Standards.
7. Joint secretary in DIPP DV Prasad and 1984 batch Karnataka cadre IAS has been appointed as additional secretary in women and child development ministry.
8. T Vijayakumar, 1983 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as Director General of CAPART in rank of an additional secretary.
9. Alok Shrivastava, 1984 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as additional secretary in ministry of shipping.
10. Anant Kumar Singh, 1984 batch UP cadre IAS, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of home affairs (MHA) in place of 1982 batch IAS Rajiv Sharma.
11. Deepak Kumar, a 1984 batch IAS from Bihar cadre, has been appointed as additional secretary in the ministry of labour and employment in the vacancy of Arun Kumar Sinha, a 1983 batch IAS from UP.
12. T Jacob, a 1984 batch IAS from Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as additional secretary in the department of personnel and training (DoPT).
13. Raghvendra Singh, information and broadcasting ministry's additional secretary and 1983 batch West Bengal cadre IAS, has been shifted as additional secretary in agriculture ministry.
14. Sunil Kumar Singh, 1998 batch Indian Statistical Service officer, has been appointed as private secretary to heavy industries minister Anant G Geete.
