Tamil Nadu doles out incentives for IAS hopefuls

IAS aspirants from Tamil Nadu have reasons to cheer. The government has increased the stipends of those who are preparing for UPSC exams at a government training institute in the state.
Significantly, the announcement was made by none other than…
Tamil Nadu chief minister Ms J Jayalalithaa herself. Accordingly, the monthly stipend would now be Rs 2,000 up from current Rs 1,200. It was also directed that the stipend would be revised by 5 per cent annually in the coming years.
And those who would be traveling to New Delhi to appear for personal interviews would be given Rs 2,000 as travel allowance.
The question is: will other chief ministers also announce similar incentive schemes for IAS aspirants?

Action and Appointments
a) LC Goyal, a 1979 batch Kerala cadre IAS, presently additional secretary and Director General, Central Government Health Scheme has been appointed as additional secretary in Cabinet Secretariat against a newly created post.
b) The central deputation tenure of Ms Neeta Bhushan, an Indian Foreign Service officer of 1994 batch and currently, director in department of economic affairs, has been extended for a period of six months beyond June 29, 2012.
