Govt takes up more steps to make All India Judicial Service a reality; new service to attract talents to judiciary

THE creation of a separate All India Judicial Service is just a few technical steps away. The government has now no options but to go ahead with it after the recommendations of the Law Commission of India in its 1st, 8th and 11th reports, the directions of the Supreme Court of India and the guidelines recommended by the First National Judicial Pay Commission have a consensus on its creation.
Since the All India Judicial Service would be common to the Union and the states and requires consent of the state governments and high courts, their views or comments were sought, M Veerappa Moily, minister of law and justice informed Lok Sabha.
Moily further said that the state governments, in principle, agreed with the proposal of formation of the service, but before giving effect to the formation of All India Judicial Service, a comprehensive deliberation be held. Moily said that it is expected that creation of such a service through competitive examination, would attract brilliant young men and women and thus best talent all over the country would come to the judiciary, as in case of other All India Services, and improve overall justice delivery system.

  2. It's a gr8 move but still suspectible as judiciary, which is still the most integerated profession around may become prey to unethical sense of duety & may sccumb to fallacies of the system alike most of the All india services.
    It req bttr regulatory measures.
