But secretaries in as many as six ministries or departments are currently on leave, forcing the Central government to give additional charge of the posts to fellow secretaries, mostly belonging to allied ministries. The ministries or departments where the secretaries are now on leave include the ministry of environment, forest and climate change, ministry of new and renewable energy, department of administrative reforms and public grievances, department of pensions and pensioners' welfare, department of official language and the department of heavy industries. 450 vacancies, but no IRS is eligible! A delegation of IRS officers seeks minister Jitendra Singh’s intervention
SOUNDS odd, but there’s no taker for 450 posts of joint commissioner or JAG level in revenue department which have been lying vacant. On Tuesday, a delegation of IRS officers approached minister of state for personnel and PMO Jitendra Singh seeking an intervention by…

Govt wants more officers to apply for CVO posts as unfilled vacancies rise
IT SOUNDS unbelievable, but the crucial post of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in Tehri Hydro Development Corporation of India Ltd (THDCIL) has been lying vacant since July 2013. And it is not an aberration. The number of CVO vacancies has risen in the last one year (some of those have been lying vacant for over two years), prompting the government to re-advertise the posts once and again. “Since there has been an increase in vacancies due to the carry forwarded vacancies, it has been decided that the web portal for online submission of applications by the individual officer will be again opened till 30.04.2016 in order to give opportunity to the willing/eligible officers who have not applied earlier, to submit fresh applications”, said an office memorandum dated April 13, 2016.
Here are the unfilled CVO vacancies across the country:

No taker for CVO post in PSUs; Govt repeatedly extends last of application
IF ONE goes by the text of the office memorandum (OM) issued by the government’s personnel department DoPT, two things emerge clearly. First, officers are reluctant to be chief vigilance officers (CVOs) in Central public sector enterprises, commonly termed as PSUs. Secondly, the government is virtually begging officials to apply for the CVOs’ posts, as the last date of application has been extended twice, now being February 29, 2016. First, here is the full text of the OM:
