9 new CVOs appointed; No IAS, 6 railway officers get berths; Full List

EARLY this week (January 22 and 23), the Central Government appointed as many as nine Central Vigilance Commissioners (CVOs) in various central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) and central authorities including NHAI, Coal India Ltd, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of lndia Ltd. etc. The new CVO appointments carry two broad trends. First, surprisingly, there’s no IAS officer in the list. Second, as many as six out of nine new CVOs are from the Indian Railways. Here below is the full list:

DoPT seeks comments before finalizing a new policy on foreign training of CVC officers, CVOs

THE Centre’s personnel department DoPT has sought comments as it proposes a policy of foreign training programme for Group “A” officers working in Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and also as Central Vigilance Officers (CVOs) in various Central public sector enterprises, with an in-built mechanism that the CVC officers or CVOs can’t take up the foreign training programmes if they have of late availed short-term foreign courses under the DFFT scheme. Govt wants more officers to apply for CVO posts as unfilled vacancies rise

IT SOUNDS unbelievable, but the crucial post of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in Tehri Hydro Development Corporation of India Ltd (THDCIL) has been lying vacant since July 2013. And it is not an aberration. The number of CVO vacancies has risen in the last one year (some of those have been lying vacant for over two years), prompting the government to re-advertise the posts once and again. “Since there has been an increase in vacancies due to the carry forwarded vacancies, it has been decided that the web portal for online submission of applications by the individual officer will be again opened till 30.04.2016 in order to give opportunity to the willing/eligible officers who have not applied earlier, to submit fresh applications”, said an office memorandum dated April 13, 2016.

No taker for CVO post in PSUs; Govt repeatedly extends last of application

IF ONE goes by the text of the office memorandum (OM) issued by the government’s personnel department DoPT, two things emerge clearly. First, officers are reluctant to be chief vigilance officers (CVOs) in Central public sector enterprises, commonly termed as PSUs. Secondly, the government is virtually begging officials to apply for the CVOs’ posts, as the last date of application has been extended twice, now being February 29, 2016. List of 25 CVO Vacancies for 2016-17; Online application process begins today

THE Central government has begun the process of filing up 25 vacancies of Central Vigilance Officers (CVOs) that will be arisen in Central Public Sector Enterprises for FY 2016-17.
