OSD/PS of 3 ministers relieved; they are joining other ministries under central staffing scheme


AT LEAST two union secretaries are on leave this week forcing the DoPT to give additional charge to fellow secretaries. Meanwhile, private secretaries or OSDs of three ministers —Dr Satya Pal Singh, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Radha Mohan Singh— are joining new ministries under the Central Staffing Scheme. Financial services secretary Rajiv Kumar is on leave; 2 North Block secretaries given additional charge


THE union finance ministry will see some adhoc arrangements when the secretary of the department of financial services, Rajiv Kumar, is on leave for 18 days, according to a DoPT order issued on Thursday. IT’S not unusual. But secretaries in as many as six ministries or departments are currently on leave, forcing the Central government to give additional charge of the posts to fellow secretaries, mostly belonging to allied ministries. The ministries or departments where the secretaries are now on leave include the ministry of environment, forest and climate change, ministry of new and renewable energy, department of administrative reforms and public grievances, department of pensions and pensioners' welfare, department of official language and the department of heavy industries.
