Govt promotes 8 IPS officers in CBI, IB, BSF, CRPF; CBI’s Rakesh Asthana will now be Spl Director

IN A Sunday night order, the Central government promoted eight senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers belonging to 1984 batch, to the rank of Special Director, thereby upping their pay matrix as well. Amid some news that the vigilance department had barred CBI's additional director Rakesh Asthana’s promotion, the ACC order was issued where Asthana's promotion as CBI special director, figured.
